She makes me have a happy heart.

For Christmas, Mackenzie received this devotional from her Ano.  She decided that she would keep it in her backpack during the week to read in the mornings before school in the activity room.  (They have to read a book every morning before school)  I agreed that was a great idea and she has been faithful in her devotional.

On the morning "Big Daddy" passed and we were all in tears over the news, she ran and grabbed her devotional and started reading it.  I am glad that she knew to turn to Him to get her through a difficult time.  "Big Daddy" was someone special in all of our lives.  For me, he was someone I had lots of respect and love for & not only that, he loved my kids like they were his own grandkids & they loved him the same.  I am so thankful for the relationship that they had with him--I am so thankful that they always ran to him and gave him the biggest hug on Sunday mornings!  At times, I struggle that my kids miss out on those "grandparent" moments & I know God placed "Big Daddy" in their lives to be another special loved one that they could look up to and love.
On our way home from visiting with the family that Sunday, Mackenzie reminded me that she could still talk to Big Daddy through her prayers & I reminded her that we will all see him again in heaven!

"Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me,
all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the Lord forever."
Psalm 23:6
