Guess What????!?

I did it...I bought myself a snazzzy new camera..I have waited a long time for it & I have done lots and lots of research...the decision I made was the Nikon D60 & so far.. I am in LOVE with it!! I haven't gotten to play with it too much, because this afternoon I was playing with this guy
which of course, I loved every minute of & then tonight we went to watch some Auburn gymnastics!!! I did play a little and this is some of my handy work, I can't wait to practice more and read up on all the information in the manual!! Hope each of you have a wonderful weekend!! :)
P.S. All I can say right now about my new camera that I am super duper excited about is..shutter speed..shutter speed..shutter speed! :)

A Trip to the dentist

Monday, I took Mackenzie and Davis to the dentist. This is the 1st time Davis has made it past the train table to the big chair. They let him come get a sneak-peak of Mackenzie having her teeth cleaned and then asked him to climb up in the chair (this is where I got nervous...thinking that he was about to climb back in me and cry) but to my suprise, he got up in the chair and opened up his little mouth just like he was told. What a big boy & what a big girl I have too, while the hygenist was cleaning Kenzie's teeth, she told me that she has some bottom teeth that are getting loose. Kenzie was so excited to hear that, b/c all of her friends are starting to loose their teeth. Both sweeties had perfect little pearly whites and did great! To end our trip, Davis asked for a sucker as as prize...I am sure Dr. Greenleaf got a kick out of that, since they had just polished Davis' little teeth only to add some little sugar bugs..he got a ball instead for his prize!!

10 honest things about me (in no particular order):

1. I love arranging flowers..I think God gave me that little talent that I had no idea I had until I was "placed" in a flowershop after my highschool graduation. I stayed a year at home and went to the jr college & not anticipating or wanting a job..my highschool guidance counselor (Mrs. V) told me she had the perfect job for me..I was at that moment thinking...job??...my parents had never made me work (but believe me, I had my share of chores around the house), so I was unsure if I wanted to take on the responsibility of a job without being required to. Little did I know, it was all God's plan & it has opened up many doors & many friendships in the past years. So, in being honest...I'm glad I trusted in Him.
2. I don't read books...I try and want to, but it is not something I really
enjoy...I think I get bored easily and don't know how to sit down and read, but anyhoo, I will read a cutsie, fun book, but it is a forced book reading relationship.
3. I miss my Dad...I trust that He had a reason for all that has happened, but I still wonder why...just being honest, I need to trust, but there is always that question in the back of my head...and not a day goes by that I don't wish that he were here, especially to be able to watch my kids grow up...I know that he would just eat Davis up, considering he always wanted a little boy, but was stuck in a house of girls!
4. I am anal...I like thinks my way..I don't like things to be out of place when I go to bed at night.
5. Most nights, I go in my kid's rooms and watch them sleep, I love it..I love to go in there and see their sweet little face, I love to see their crazy sleeping positions, & I love to go in there and pray with them.
6. I have been sewing for just a few months and I have grown to love it..a few years ago, I never dreamed I would be doing what I am doing now!! yipppee...
7. I selfishly wish my sister, Haley lived closer. I know she loves Austin, but I wish she was a few hours closer, so that we could visit more often. sorry, being honest.
8. I have the best husband in the world. It seems like we have been together forever, but it has been a great forever. He is a great husband, daddy, and provider for our family.
9. I wouldn't mind having another baby...I don't think that I can convice the hubby, but my heart could love a 3rd. (not sure if my mind could handle it, though)
10. I sometimes ride in the car without the radio on...my sister, Haley, used to make fun of me for that, but now she catches herself doing the same thing. It is my quiet time, my time to think, and I really enjoy it!

I had my friend Ginny take some pictures of Mackenzie and Davis & she just gave me the CD to proof all the pictures...they are great! I am so excited...I was going to do this as a suprise for Bubba for Valentine's Day..yep, thinking ahead...BUT Mackenzie accidentally slipped up and told him...so, I will share a few of my favorites, but I am saving the best for him...he reads up on our blog, so I can't post it on here. Thanks Ginny for the great pictures...you are the best!

Hip Hip Hooray!! The sun came out today!!

and so did we!! It was so nice...as I quote what Kate said this morning in church...it feels like a heat-wave today & I must say it does compared to the past few!! The kids were loving be outside finally..I am sure they were feeling cabin feverish'..so we were out riding bikes and jumping on the trampoine!! Davis is finally to the point of being able to enjoy the trampoline



...he can jump and run & doesn't feel so much like the "hot potato" being bounced around...I am thinking (outloud...if they don't fight constantly) that this spring and summer is going to be a ton of fun, because they will be able to play together!! I am looking forward to warmer days and I made this since I was feelin' a little springy today...

My two favorite things are burning tonight...

I can't think of any better way to relax on a cold Friday night!! Hope each of you are warm and cozy!!

Adventures with 3 & a quick sewing project...

Last night, I baby sat cousin Will for the 1st time...of course, he was just precious & I loved getting my baby fix and sending him home for the night time feedings. ;) I have always thought I was a multi-tasker, but with 3 it put multi-tasking to the challege..bedtime...lay baby Will in the middle of Davis' big boy bed (in 3 yrs-ha!), pick Davis up, cuddle him & say our prayers & put him in his crib...I think he thought he was having his 1st sleepover, b/c as soon as I picked up Will, Davis cried & cried!! (he quickly got over it & went so asleep) Off to Kenzie's room...much easier, since she can climb up in her bed..turn her music on (argue a second about the cd that was playing), say prayers, one last tuck-in, & off to sleep she goes...Will & I head into the living room for some ET and AI and he is off to sleep...so wasn't too bad for the 1st time with 3!! (luckily they were all asleep-ha!)
After Will left...off to sewing I went.. & I made this for Davis

We're on "track" to healthier days...

Day 7 of antibiotics...3 more to go! Knock Knock on wood... the rest of us are healthy...maybe Kenzie will be the only one that was bit by the strep bug! Happy Tuesday!

This little boy and I...

have been just hanging around together all day & all night!! Mackenzie is much, much better and is off spending the night with a friend, so it is just Davis and I.
Davis is growing & growing to be such a big boy, which really breaks my heart, but also he makes my heart happy watching him grow into the sweetest little boy! He has the most tender heart and is full of love!
Davis at 2 years & 4 months:

*you love applesauce, yogurt, and pancakes--and you drink lots & lots of milk every day!
*you take a nap every day for 3 1/2 hrs..you would sleep 4 or 5, but mommy always wakes you up, so you can go to bed again at 6.
*you love your sissy so much. she is your best friend and everything she does, you want to do just like her!!
*you still call daddy, bubba...don't know if that will ever change.
*you love to be outside and ride on your riding toys.
*your favorite things to do inside are: play with your train table & cars, build with blocks and legos, read books, and color (sometimes on things you aren't supposed to..woops!)
*my favorite things you say are... "bless you." "navis" (that's Davis)"rock-rock, mama" "other one"..talking about when he puts his shoes on the wrong feet-so cute!
*you love to snuggle in my arms and let me rub your sweet little head...you love to be rubbed (you get that from me!)
*you are still sleeping in your crib, we tried the big boy bed, but unlike your sister, you GET out...which mommy doesn't like, so mommy has put you back in the crib for a bit longer. I think you love your crib so much that you could stay in their forever if you would quit growing! :)
*you are doing so well in school and are learning so much..it makes me so happy to hear that you are a sweet little boy!!

Oh my little boy...I do love you & you will always be my sweet suprise!!

My Marley & Me experience....

Well, this dog...

had me going back & forth yesterday, yep just yesterday, should we keep her or give her away?? I was torn..I do love her..look how sweet those little eyes of hers are laying in that bed of leaves, although she may look so sweet and innocent, today, when I came home, I drive up to see our complete back yard covered in the trash! She had flipped the neighbors trash can over and torn through every trash piece in their dumpster...which made me think....ARRRRRRR...What was I thinking yesterday??
P.S. Those of you haven't seen Marley and Me..it is great...sad, but great! :)

It is confirmed..

Strep it is...I wonder, oh how I wonder, how many times a family can have this mess...10 more days of antibiotics..think we might have had a week off & now we are back on them!! Prayers & more prayers for healthy little children!! :)

The boots are off..

and we are just laying around until 3, which is when we have an appointment at the pediatrician. This morning, Mackenzie was acting funny (tired--did not want to eat breakfast) & around 11:30..my thoughts were confirmed...her school called and said that she did not eat lunch and wasn't feeling well...my suspicions tell me strep, but who knows....stay tuned!

me: dear God... thank you so much for mommy, daddy, and sissy--then interrupted by davis by him telling me..thank you for Navis (how he says Davis), mommy..thank you for Navis, mommy..so I started over by saying...dear God, thank you so much for mommy, daddy, davis, and sissy. thank you for this beautiful day, we love you. amen.

and now to the big boy bed...
well, let me just off by saying..i have the best hubby in the world who puts up with my indecisive self..i love you and thanks for all you do. last year after christmas, i wanted to take down one of mackenzie's twin beds to make more room for her to play with her doll house and dolls...this year, i want the twin bed back up, so that was our project the other day, the bed went up and i was going to let davis start sleeping in there with kenzie...so last night was the 1st night, it went great. they both were asleep in seconds. there was no laughing or playing around. he slept through the night. BUT i woke up to those little pitter pattering feet on the hardwoods at 7ish this morning (which i know is NOT early, but all of you that know us know that we like our sleep and that we get plenty of it--well, they do...i stay up late and like to sleep late when i can)...i was okay...i got up & went about our merry day...naptime rolls around...not so easy...lots of laughing...in & out of the bed, which warning #3 sent davis to his crib, which was the key to a 6:00 wake up from his nap tonight, so call me what you want...tonight, i put davis back in his crib & will continue to cherish the time i have of him being pinned up..the time will come when i don't have the option, but now i do..and i vote CRIB for now!! :) so kenzie's extra bed looks like this tonight
