7 Daily Prayers for Our Children

1. When they wake up: "Let the morning bring (child's name) word of your unfailing love, for she has put her trust in You. Show (her/him) the way (she/he) should go, for to you (he/she) lifts up her soul." (Adapted from Psalm 143:8)

2. When they are getting dressed: "Therefore, as God's chosen child, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Lord, help (him/her) bear with others and forgive whatever grievances (he/she) has against others. Help (him/her) forgive as the Lord forgave (him/her). And over all these virtues, help (him/her) put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity." (Adapted from Colossians 3:12-14)

3. While they are eating: "Teach (child's name) the secret of being content in any and every situation whether well-fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. Teach (him/her) that (he/she) can do everything through him who gives (him/her) strength." (Adapted from Philippians 4:12-13)

4. When they go out of the house: "(Name of child), do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-His good, pleasing and perfect will." (Adapted from Romans 12:2)

5. While they are taking a bath: Lord, give (name of child) clean hands and a pure heart, and let (him/her) not lift (his/her) soul to an idol or swear by what is false. Let (him/her) receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God (his/her) Savior. Let (him/her) be part of the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, O God of Jacob. (Adapted from Psalm 24:4-6)

6. When they are going to bed: "The Lord Your God is with you; he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, be will rejoice over you with singing." (Zephaniah 3:17)

7. While they are sleeping: "I pray that (name of child) will do everything without complaining or arguing, so that he/she may become blameless and pure, a child of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which he/she shines like a star in the universe as he/she holds out the word of life-in order that he/she may boast on the day of Christ that he/she did not run or labor for nothing." (Adapted from Philippians 2:14-16)

Birthday Mania!

This weekend, we attended 3 birthday parties..WOW is all I can say! We started off Friday night at a sock hop...



and then Saturday, we woke up and went to a skating party..this was Macknenzie's 1st time to skate,

all the way to the party, Mackenzie said she wasn't going to skate (which all stems back to if Mackenzie isn't perfect at something, she doesn't want to do it or even try it!), but I convinced her to try and she did and kinda grew to love it after she watched others fall and realized that it was okay to fall, as soon as she gets brave enough to try it on her own, it was time to cut the cake...She fell after eating cake and that was all she wrote...skates off, pouty lips out, and it was time to go to party #3...
which was at the park...I did not stay for this one, thanks to my sweet friend, Ginny who volunteered to watch Mackenzie and bring her home afterwards--thanks Ginny! So, by Saturday night, we were all exhausted from all the birhday party fun!

Happy Wednesday!!


I think I have found my winter passion...although, I LOVE to be outdoors, right now to me, it is way too cold, I am so glad that I have learned how to do some sewing projects, b/c I do believe this will keep me busy this winter!! I whipped this up last night for Kenzie to wear to school today..it might be my favorite, but for sure the messiest I have done thus far. I love minky dot..I wish I could get away with wearing these myself, but it was so messy cutting out..sheddings went everywhere! But after seeing the finished product...who cares...it is just adorable & the little girl wearing it is even more adorable!

Some things are just dear to the heart...


Davis has been without his pap-pap for a while now, but I am telling you...he would have that baby back in a second! It just amazes me..when we took Kenzie's away, it was just gone...she never asked or talked about it again...Davis, on the other hand, still talks about his pap-pap (He doesn't cry) but it is a topic of conversation & now that cousin Will is here, he is all about holding Will's pap-pap. To a two year old little boy named Davis..his pap-pap is still dear to his heart!

If I had a choice...we would do lots of this every weekend like I did growing up...


What a wonderful day...We had a great morning at church, it was great to begin our day at sunday school in a new class and seeing lots of new faces...I was so happy to see Jay, Jenny, Hudson, and Barrett this morning...God works in mysterious ways, about a week ago, the grandmother to a little boy in my class approached me about her daughter searching for a church, she told me that they had visited a few, but have not found what they were looking for, her little boy is extremely shy and is really good friends with Hudson in my class...guess what, Mitch and Hudson visited FUMC this morning together...what a blessing, Mitch and Hudson were able to hold hands and go to children's church together..God is so good! :) I hope both these sweet families will love our church as much as we do!!! We then headed to worship service to hear another great message from our pastor, Tim. This afternoon, we went to our church fall festival where all the kids had so much fun...Amen to a great Sunday with family, friends, and worship!
