Today, we went to the lake and Mackenzie wanted to jump off the rocks at Chimney Rock--of course, her rock was a "little" one--but I know she will probably be one of those kids that jumps off the big one when she older....hope they outlaw it by then!! This picture is of Davis on the way home from the beach--he was a little trooper at the beach and played so hard...I could just eat him--he is so stinkin' cute in this picture!! (Just look at that little lip!!)

1 little boy and lots of little girls...

Today, I had to help my friend DeeDee with her girls--so we had a house full!!! My 2 + her 3 = KID OVERLOAD!! WOW!! I think I am a Mom of 2, because more than that wears me out!! Tonight, after the storm..haha...I just sat in a daze..they kept me going today!! I would get them set up at one place & 5 minutes later they were ready for something else...I spent more time in the setup stage of things!!! : ) Here are few pictures of all the kids on the slip & slide--I thought that Davis might be a little overwhelmed with all the ciaos (sp??), because he is not big on crowds-just his personality, but he just jumped right in!! HAPPY FRIDAY!!

Just the 4 of us...

We just returned home from being the biggest beach bums-- and we are back home to lots of dirty laundry to catch up on!! We had such a great time, this was the first family trip for just the four of us--, and it was WONDERFUL!! This was my Mother's day request/present and of course, I loved every minute of it!! We had such beautiful sunny weather & here are lots of pictures of our fun!! I tried to get some pictures of Mackenzie and Davis on the beach, but you know how that goes...one smiles, the other looks away, etc. Can't wait to go back in a few months...

It's a......

BOY!!! Yeahhh!! Amy and Jarrod are expecting a little boy!! We are so happy for the two of you!! Davis is going to love having "Baby Brandon" living around the corner & Mackenzie will love being the "little mama" of these 2 little boys!! :) I am going to have to work on all my prediction tests for the future--I still can't believe I was wrong, but I am still so happy that it's a sweet little boy!!

Love is in the air...

This weekend, we went to Selma for a wedding!! It was tons of fun, but more than anything it was great to spend time with my sisters!! As you can see, Mackenzie was a dancing machine...from the time the band started playing, she was on the dance floor!!! I believe she might have worn out all of her dance partners--she jammed to Sweet Home Alabama & since their were a lot of Alabama alums (including my sister Haley) she was chanting Roll Tide Roll!! Hmmm....we don't allow those words in our family!! (Jo Ellen, I know you are thinking it is payback time for me teaching your boys--WAR EAGLE!!) But other than that....it was a blast!! Congrats to the happy couple!!

Pool days!

We took Mackenzie and Davis to my mom's the other day to swim--Mackenzie went swimming on Mother's Day and hasn't stopped asking to go back. We were on the edge of our seats with Davis--He has no fear and basically wanted to just hop right in!! I didn't really know how he would react, so at first I didn't put his swimsuit on, he walked to the steps and proceeded on in!! WOW! I am going to have my work cut out for me this summer--relaxing pool days are OVER!!!
P.S. He thought the floaties were just another accessory!! HA! (Matt, I know you love this!!)

The Poll is Closed!!

In defense to my loss...there aren't many choices for little boys--not in clothes nor sunglasses!! It is either the "Elton John" look-a-likes or your choice of Spiderman!! I went with the obivious "Elton Johns", because I know in the future that there will be many spiderman days. I know all my mommy friends of boys out there voted "NO", because you can appreciate my whole debate...luckily, I have had the opportunity to go crazy shopping for a little girl & then God gave me Davis, because He knew I could not afford 2 Mackenzie's! HA! And, yes, I still love all you "YES" voters!! : )

Our little Graduate

Tonight, Mackenzie had her Preschool Graduation. We are so proud of Mackenzie and feel so blessed to be her parents, what a sweet little girl we have!!! In Mackenzie's card from Ano, she quoted some really good scripture..."For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you, plans to give you hope, and a future." Jeremiah 9:11
Indeed He does have a wonderful "plan" for Mackenzie's future--God is good!!

Slipping & a Sliding!!!

Well, from day one when Ano and Jrod bought their new house, we knew that they had the perfect hill for a slip & slide!!! Yesterday, we went to Walmart to pick up a couple of things & guess what?? We bought a slip & slide!!! Mackenzie loves it & almost comes off b/c she gets to going so fast!! At first, Davis enjoyed running down it and playing in the sprayers, but then Bubba helped him slide down it and he thought it was too funny!!! We have more water fun in store for the summer!! Thanks for the perfect hill Ano & Jrod--we are going to have lots of fun on it this summer!! :)

Just a tad too big...

This was the funniest thing, Davis decides that he will take a seat in Mackenzie's American girl (baby doll) desk!! He was way TOO big, but he just plopped right in there...his tummy was basically inside the desk when he lifted the top!! Thought this would give you a little laugh...these kids never seize to amaze me, who knows what is next around here! :)

Sunny Friday!!

Here are a couple of pictures of Mackenzie and Davis enjoying being in the sunshine on a Friday!! Today, Davis also received his first busted lip--I am sure this is the beginning of many more to come, but it was pretty scary for me as a mom, Bubba brought him in & all I could see was blood, I thought that he might have knocked out his front tooth, because blood was all over his teeth, but we have narrowed it down to a bad busted lip..and his nose got scratched too from the fall!! Poor baby!! :(

Mackenzie went to play at Laura Tyson's house for a little bit this afternoon & Mrs. Heather brought her home with the top down...Mackenzie thinks this is the COOLEST!!! She tells me all the time that we need a car like that (VW convertible), but little does she know that we could not all fit in there & much less carry all of our gear on a daily basis!! :)

Here is one thing Davis LOVES to do outside!! He pushes his Thomas the train all over our yard!! (For me it seems like more work than fun..Ha!)

Preschool Graduation Picnic

Today, Mackenzie and the entire 4 year preschool class had a picnic at Monkey Park. It was such a beautiful day to have a picnic at the park and celebrate with these sweet children. Yesterday, I got her progress report for the year--half way in the year, I received one and Mrs. Heather said Mackenzie was doing great & was a sweet little girl with a leadership personality!! I thought this was such a tactful way of describing Mackenzie...she definitely has a "leadership personality"--meaning her way or no way! :) Her end of the year report read:
*Knows all letters by sight and recognition
*Knows almost all sounds associated with letters
*Mackenzie is very bright and her progress has been amazing...she is very ready for Kindergarten!!
I am so proud of Mackenzie and the little girl she has become. I am so thankful to be a member of such a great church that offers such a wonderful Christian preschool to the public...what a BLESSING!! Mackenzie has learned so many things along the way to prepare her for school, but not only that, she most importantly has learned about God's love for her! Guess what????

Davis has a new hat!!! YAHHH for me!! Well, today at preschool Davis found this hat and HAD to come home with it on his head!!! He has had it on his head all day, except for naptime and I had to take it off to wash his hair in the bath tub!! Here are a couple of pictures of Davis taking a bath with his new Fireman hat!! (I hope to sneak it back to Preschool in the morning--I am keeping my fingers crossed!)
P.S. As you can tell, Davis is feeling much, much better!! I am so glad, it makes for happier Ford family days!! :)

You've got to be kidding...

Nope, I am not kidding, Davis has strep AGAIN!!! I think to myself, how many times can this little boy get this mess??? On Thursday, Davis was so pitiful--he wined and cried just about the entire day--no fever, but just made him a doctor's apointment, b/c I knew that this was not my sweet little Davis!! He never acts like that--Well, that was a waste of time and money--I found out nothing--they did not do a strep test though, yesterday was a repeat of Thursday, after sleeping from 10-3, he finally woke up, and he woke up with a fever-called the doctor's office again, and they said that it could be viral, so if he wakes up in the morning, to be there at 8 am...are you kidding?? We are never up at 8 (unless we have to)-so at about 7:45, I enter his room (yep, it was cloudy and I could have been sleeping in, but I woke up my sound asleep baby) & guess what--running a fever again--so we load up and head back to the doctor & today, after nothing else could be wrong they did a strep test & it was POSITIVE!! I then had Kenzie tested and she was negative (as of now--he will probably get better and then she will come crashing down-that is how my luck goes) But anyway, we are back on meds & hopefully, we will be better soon--I am so ready for some Summer weather so hopefully we will rid runny noses and all this other mess!!!
Please keep little Davis in your prayers for a speedy recovery and that he may go strep FREE for more than 2 weeks & that Mackenzie will miss this round of strep and stay healthy!!! I'll keep you posted! : )

Ready or not here I come...

This morning, we went to "Star Search" at Mackenzie's soon to be school...can't believe that she will begin Kindergarten in August!! She is so excited & can't wait, but me on the other hand, I have been an emotional basket case about this next step! I am very happy, but also very sad that my first little baby has grown up!! I know that Mackenzie will do great, she loves to socialize and interact-when we were there this morning, one of the teachers, Mary Patton, came up to me and said Shea, I met Mackenzie at the bathrooms at the 280 boogie, she said that Mackenzie was with the Moreman twins and she just cracked her up, the Moreman twins were so quiet, but not Mackenzie, she said, What's your name?? and began to carry on a little conversation with Mary! I just said I apologize for whatever she might have said that wasn't proper!! This little girl is full of personality and is a huge mess--you never know what she's going to say next! Please keep Mackenzie in your prayers as she approaches this big day in August!!
