Sisterly & Brotherly Love

Here is a little video of Kenzie and Davis playing this afternoon--one minute they can be screaming at each other and the next minute they are giggling!! You just never know..here is a little evidence in this video, how Mackenzie gives Davis rough love--minutes after I stopped recording she pushed him so hard down the slide (not that this little slide is huge or anything) he plopped off the side! Davis will end up growing up to be tough, b/c he has been in survival mode since birth having Sissy around!! :0) ( I got this new gadget that records & I am loving it, I am horrible about getting the camcorder out unless it is a b'day, christmas, etc--so maybe now I will capture some cute moments!)

P.S.--Wednesday is the day that we don't go anywhere except Tumbling, so that is why Mackenzie is in her PJ's and has her bow in her hair that she wore when she was 2--
what can I say, she dressed herself?!?!

Here is their song that they sang...

The time has come...

Davis is learning to ride the barbie jeep, of course, all he knows how to do is push the petal there is no steering involved! Who needs a steering wheel anyway?! So, watch out there is a new driver on the loose & he's a WILD man!

A BIG BIG thank you to Mrs. Britney & my sweet friend, Caroline, for the cute little frogs, I love them & love to open & close their mouths!! Love, Davis

You are invited...

to a tea party! Today, I walked in the kitchen and we were hosting a tea party for Bella and the entire Groovy girl family. Mackenzie was the little hostess & was serving...sundried tomato pasta, jelly beans (displayed in the candy jar), and snow cones...Here are a couple of pictures of the hostess and all of her guest!! She just puts a smile on my face when she does little things like this!
Dress attire: Swimsuit of your choice! :)
The invitation was posted...(when I walked into the kitchen I saw the post-its and she then told me that was her invitation to the tea party)

Innocent thoughts...

Today, we were outside playing and Mackenzie was walking around with her bicycle helmet on & this was the conversation we had:
Me: Mackenzie, you need to start practicing riding your bike.
Mackenzie: I am not good, Mama!
Me: Well, Mackenzie, you have to practice to get good, if you don't practice you will never learn how.
Mackenzie: Well, Mama, I can always wish upon a shooting star and that will make me learn!

If we could all just wish upon a shooting star...wouldn't that be great!?!? :)

Wedding, Lake, or just Target?!?!

We were supposed to go to a wedding in Atlanta today, but that did not pan out, so then we thought, we would just go to the lake...We did not go to the lake, so we just went to Target and bought a little pool for the kids to play in & the stuff to make snow cones! (and we finally found Davis some blue sunglasses, so now he has his own that aren't pink!) Sometimes a change of plans makes for a fun day!!

Next fashion statement???

Let's hope not, the shoes are enough!! Although, I think he is pretty darn cute with his fashion!! :)

Friday at the lake

This morning, we loaded up and headed down to the lake for the day!! It was so nice to be at the lake and have a day relaxing in the sun!! We had the best time and it was great to spend this time together--we were on the boat with no TV, internet, etc...just good ole' quality family time!! Mackenzie and Davis had a blast...Mackenzie could not wait until we stopped so she could jump in and swim!Honestly, I could only stick my feet in..the water was freezing!! Bubbs got a taste of the water himself--well, he didn't mean to, but when we stopped to fill up with gas, he was trying to jump to the dock and lost his balance and that was all she wrote--the water was so cold it literally took his breath away!! It was one of those times that you wanted to laugh, but knew you would get in trouble, so you kept a straight face the best you could! (Amy you know what I mean!) But it was all laughs on the way home--he was ready to laugh about it all & of course, it was my fault that he fell in! Not really, but I am a great excuse!!! :) The kids were EXHAUSTED!! Davis was sound asleep before we even left the marina and Kenzie was asleep minutes later, so we got home and put them to bed--and it has been a quiet Friday night around here!!

Caught in the act...

So, as I wrote yesterday about how Davis has a shoe fetish and some nights he wants to go to bed with his shoes on--well, here is evidence. We get out of the bath & into our pj's & where does Davis then go?? His closet and pulls out his crocs & there is no telling him that he can't sleep with them on...I tuck him in bed and had to capture some pics of him all snuggled in with his crocs on!! Who knows what this little boy is thinking??? But I know one thing--I love this little stinker! :)

What do you battle??

Do you battle the shoes?? Well, I decided to let Davis WIN this morning & his choice of shoes were his cowboy boots!! Out of the 3 other pairs of shoes that I offered-he said "Uh-ah!" and went to his closet and got his cowboy boots off the shoe shelf. When Mackenzie was a baby she went barefooted all the time--not Davis, he has a shoe fetish- most nights, if I would let him he would put shoes on with his pj's and go to bed!! So here we are--Cowboy boots and all!! :)

Treasuring the little things...

Today, was a little bitter sweet...I registered Mackenzie for Kindergarten!!! I can't believe that she is about to begin big school!! As I was riding in the car to go register her, tears just rolled down my face and I just could not believe that we are about to begin this chapter as parents! In the last few weeks, I have talked to so many people and they have said "Where does the time go??" It seems that I have just blinked and here we are & if I blink again I will be right here with Davis...so I am just treasuring each and every moment with these sweet little blessings!!

WoW--Davis makes my spaghetti bake look oh so good!! :) I am just happy to see that he has expanded his 3 basic food groups--yogurt, applesauce, & muffins! He will finally try some new things, so maybe we will finally get there!

And if I blink again-it will be 20 years from now and Mackenzie will be getting married--The other day, my mom was cleaning out and gave me my wedding veil and Mackenzie was playing dress up with it, so that is why she has wedding attire on!

What are boys made of??

Snips and Snails,
And puppy dog tails,
That's what little boys are made of!! Little boys are the best & what a blessing Davis is!! God knew what He was doing when he suprised us with Davis! He is so much fun & when the sun is out, Davis wants to be outside with it!! He now goes to the back door to let us know that is where he wants to go!! He loves to play outside with his trucks, loves to ride on the barbie jeep with his sissy, play at the sand table, & anything else as long as he is outside!! Here are some pictures of Davis playing...thanks Mrs. Deborah for the new toys--I already love the lawn mower!!! Love, Davis

Davis pushing his new lawn mower as fast as he could down the driveway!

Davis and trucks--that is a great combination!!

280 Boogie

Today, we went to the 280 Boogie in downtown Waverly!! It was lots of fun and I am surely going to mark my calendar so we can do this again next year!!! It was an all day affair and so much fun that we were even able to skip nap time. There were lots of good friends to talk to and lots of good music to listen to! Towards the end, we headed down where the bands played, earlier in the day, we were in a not so crowded area, which was nice for the kids to run around and play! There was a sweet college girl there with her friends and she had bubbles and hulla hoops...Davis loved the bubbles and the girls practiced on the hulla hoops. Mackenzie has never used the hulla hoop, but she was determined to master it...she practiced and practiced, got frustrated with herself and then she came and sat down beside me telling me that she wasn't good. ( I have found that Mackenzie is a perfectionist at anything she does--if she doesn't think that she is good, she doesn't want to do it..when learning to write her letters, she would practice writing and then come to me and ask me which one was the preetiest..I would always say, Mackenzie they are all pretty & then she would let me know the imperfections in each one...Dancing--she quit, b/c she said she wasn't good at it--I tried to reason with her and tell her that she had to practice and she would improve, but after lots of battles, we quit!! ) I reassured her that she was doing great! A few minutes later, she got up, went and picked up the hulla hoop and started practicing some more--she got the hang of it and that hulla hoop would stay on her hips for a while! :) Great Job Mackenzie, I knew you could do it!! I am so glad that we are all feeling 100 % better and were able to go boogie at the 280 Boogie!!

Ready for the beach!!

Today, I made our reservations for the beach and now I am so antsy to go...I can't wait!!! Last year, we went and stayed at Phoenix on the Bay in Gulf Shores & we are returning there again this year...It is so much fun and such a GREAT place for kids & it will be a relaxing spot for prego-Ano!!! I am so lucky to have 2 sweet sister-in-laws and 2 great brother-in-laws that we enjoy this time with!! Let the countdown begin....beach days are coming!!!!

Our Water Babies!

Well, we are feeling a lot better around here, but we might be sick again after playing in the sprinkler! :) I hooked ole' Elmo up to let him work his magic--At first, Davis just stared at it like he does anyone knew, but then Mackenzie took off running through the water and then Davis realized that Elmo was going to be a lot of fun!!

Ford Family Health

Well, Hello! Just wanted to update you on the Ford family health...we all have STREP!! Yep, Strep! I got sick on Sunday--felt HORRIBLE!! Still felt bad on Monday--could not get out of the bed for 2 days--but you know, I had to at some points to do my motherly duties--luckily, the kids went to school that morning-came home, we all napped until 6--and they ate, gave them a bath, and then back to bed we all went!! Tuesday, was better, throat was still a little sore--was thinking just had a bad cold--Wednesday, I decided to take Mackenzie in to check her runny nose issues--Freeman had changed all her allergy medicine & was not working-(Now we are testing Singular) -and she tested positive for strep-I told them, if her results were + to come and test Davis b/c he probably had it too (although he had No runny nose, fever, or any symptom at all) and yep, he had it too, plus double ear infections--so now we are back to the whole ear infection thing with Davis-we will be reevaluated in 4 wks & if still not clear--off to the ENT we go...So, today, I decide, although, I am feeling lots better, except my voice is scratchy and my throat is sore that I must have strep--so I call to get a doctor's apt & can't see anyone until Monday-I call Ellen and she told me to just let Freeman check me out--Yep, I am a new patient of their's now (31 and I use my Pediatrician as my primary doctor)...so I went and had the whole swab thingy done (and now I see why the kids cry-it is kinda uncomfortable-but not too worry- I did not cry) and sure enough, Kristy (the nurse) comes in and says, "Shea, honey, you are eat up with that stuff!" (meaning STREP! ) So, now we are all on antibiotics--man, that is going to be a job keeping up with all this medicine stuff for the next 10 days--hopefully, we have not infected Bubbs & that we will all be well soon! And a BIG apology to all those we might have infected!! :( To Healthier Days....from our family to yours! :)

Partied Out!

This morning, I had to wake Davis up at 10:30 to get him ready for church!! I had to get my camera, because even when I went in there to get him, he just did not have enough energy to lift his little head!! He was worn out from helping Mason celebrate the Big 1!!! It was a late night for my little party animal--he did not go to sleep until around 8:15 when we finally got in the car and on the road!! It was seconds in the car before those little eye balls shut, Davis is used to going to bed around 6:30
so he had a LATE night last night! I would have thought that he would have still be going full speed after he ate all that cake and icecream, but no way, this little boy still needs his sleep!!

Too cute not to share!

Today, we went to the park AGAIN--I am sure we will be doing a lot of this in the next few weeks--great weather and can't think of a better place to be this time of the year! This reminds me of my childhood years and growing up around Mush Creek-this was a creek that ran through Sardis--We have lots of fun family memories playing in the creek--but I do believe the best memories would be campouts and riding horses in the creek!! Today, Mackenzie and Laura Tyson played with their imaginations--they had houses (which were different rocks) and had their little ponies..Davis enjoying throwing stuff in the water and playing in the mud with his shovel(wonder if he will ever make mud pies--I did that as a child!) Enjoy! :)

A day at the park...

What a perfect day to go to the park? The weather was absolutely beautiful...if nap time had not called, I think that I could have stayed all day long! After Mackenzie had her tumbling lesson, we headed to Monkey park with friends. We had a little picnic lunch and then headed for the swings! Well, Davis and I headed for the slides! Davis figured out how to climb up the swing set and then slide down the slide! He LOVED it--he just did it over and over again!! :) After that, we headed for the rocks and waterfall area...and the kids just loved this!! Mackenzie loved walking on the rocks and splashing her feet in the water! Davis loved playing in the mud and water--yep, he was a mess, so before we left I gave him a quick splash of water, rinse and we headed home for naptime! Well, Davis did not make it out of the parking lot before he was sound asleep and walking inside the house, Mackenzie requested a nap, so they were both worn out! Things are pretty quiet around here right now...everyone is napping!!! Happy Wednesday!!

Zoo Day

After 2 days of rain, we headed to Montgomery for a day at the zoo! Last year, we went to the zoo and Davis was still too young to enjoy it, but this year, he loved every minute of it! Each time, we got to a new place, he was ready to get out of his stroller to see what was behind the wall! Mackenzie enjoyed seeing all the different characters and loved the zoo in general! Aunt Heather and Mackenzie closed the zoo with a ride on a camel...yep, a camel!!! What a fun day!!

The perfect height

So, as you can see in the pictures, Davis is at the perfect height to reach the TV on/off button...and guess what...he has found it and loves to watch the effect of pushing the button!! Thank goodness for DVR, so that we don't miss something, b/c otherwise we would just get to watch clips during Davis' awake hours!

Could this be love??

Here is a picture of Davis and his best friend at Preschool, Caroline Finley. He just loves her and they are too cute when they see each other each day. One day, I went in their class room and they were hugging each other so much, they both fell & then all those little giggles were tears! Caroline started crying, because she fell down and then Davis started crying, because she was crying! :) It is going to be fun watching these sweet little angels grow over the years--I hope they are always just this close!

Always a party...

Well, there is always a party at our house!!! Mackenzie loves Hannah Montana & believe it or not, I think Davis does, too!! He kinda knows the tune to some of the songs and loves to sing a long and dance with Mackenzie!! He thinks that his big sissy is the coolest!! :)
