We might be over the hump....

Monday made a week papi-free!! Yeh Davis!! (yeh mommy & daddy too, b/c it was just as hard on us!) Looking back on the time when we took Mackenzie's pappi away, it felt draining, she would wake up in the night patting around in her bed and crying looking for it and we would have to get her back asleep, it was hard...with Davis, he hasn't woke up any during the night, the hard part has been getting him to go to bed without crying...I tried the rocking him to sleep trick and I would get him to sleep and as soon as I would lay him in his crib he would wake up and begin crying, so I would rub his little face and those big brown eyes would close and I would try to sneak out and guess what...he would start crying all over again...so our latest attempt, lay him in his crib, he cries for about 5 minutes (which seems like forever to me, I want so badly just to go get him and love on him!) & then he goes on to bed....So, now to my point, today, he was in his sippy cup drawer and found his pacifier clips and was saying "pap-pap, mama, pap-pap" & I told him pap-pap was gone bye-bye, he didn't shed a tear went into my room and started building a choo-choo train with his trains and papiclips!!!
wooooh, that was a lot longer than I intended..sorry! :)

Do these two not just put a SMILE on your face?

These last 2 are of Davis pitching a little fit, because he was wanting to get something to eat of the refrigerator --this poor little starving child! :)

The last couple of days....

We came to visit Heather and Uncle Dave in Wetumpka and while Mommy (ME!) went to get a haircut, Heather and Kenzie had a girly day and did things like this.... Mackenzie enjoyed getting her toenails painted and talked Heather into get a 5.00 flower on each toe!! I was just thankful to get my hair cut!! Yipppeee! That night, Stephen and Rebecca joined us for some of those yummy hamburgers I have previously mentioned that my hubby grills and we sat around and talked and Stephen and Davis had us laughing by doing this...

On Friday, Heather walked in with a bag of these...

which brought up many childhood memories of having to pick & shell peas during our summer break, thanks to my mom & dad, it made us appreciate the taste of each little pea & then last night, Uncle Dave and I sat around and did this...

To childhood memories and a Happy weekend!!!! :)

Food for thought...

This child will eat just about anything--Today, her choice was spaghettio's...and yes, we eat them without a shirt because I have the hardest time getting it out of her clothing!!!

And this child is my challenge with food...But, today I got him to eat a peanut butter sandwich and he loved it and then he had some applesauce and by the picture you can tell he loves his applesauce!!!!

P.S. We are still pap-free...challenged & drained BUT pap-free!! :)

1st Naptime-1 PapPap=1 Sad little boy!!!!

Well, I will say, last night went over like a breeze...Davis did not wake up, he fell right asleep, no tears were shed, and he slept until around 8:30 this morning...On the other hand, nap time today....was HARD!!! He cried & cried and as wimpy as I am to that little cry, I did not give him his pap...I wanted to and really thought about it, but then I thought, we are almost there...keep going, it is only rough the 1st couple of days!! So, we started off rocking and were almost asleep (and yes there were tears) and guess who bombards through the back door...Chatty & VERY VERY loud Kathy (Mackenzie)!!! I just wanted to ring her neck, but then again, I didn't, I just shooed her back out the back door to play outside...so as of now...he is asleep...I will continue to keep you posted on how the days without the pap go!!!

So far, So good...

Tonight, we put Davis to bed without pap-pap...so far it has been good...no tears!!!!
I guess that he and his alligator are really going to bond now, b/c he and pap-pap have been the best of friends since birth!!! :( Keeping our fingers crossed that the next few days are as easy as tonight--lucky for us, he is still exhausted from the beach, which probably made it a little easier!! Goal is for it to be totally gone atleast by his 2nd birthday which is not until August 22nd, so we are shooting early!!! It just makes it so real how big he is getting, which makes this mommy so so sad!!! Every little thing is just a little more sentimental when you think this is your last baby!! (atleast that is what my hubby says, he says we are done having babies...)Keep little Davis in your prayers and probably us too, that this is a easy transition!!

Our Chatty Kathy!!

Here it is!!!!

Davis' Baby

At the beach, Davis put a ball in his shirt so he could have a baby belly like Nano(Aunt Amy)...it was so cute!!

Beach Trip

We just returned from our family beach trip..We had tons of fun and did lots of relaxing!!! I am so glad that we have made this trip a annual trip with Heather, Uncle Dave, Nano, & Woof-Woof--it is something to look forward to each summer!!! :) Last night, we took Mackenzie on her first ferris wheel ride at The Wharf--I think she might be more of a roller-coaster gal b/c she kinda thought it was boring--oh well, that is more my speed-HA!
Highlights of the trip in my eyes:
The Slide!!!! (As always!)
Windy River as Kenzie says (the lazy river)
Uncle Dave and I making Heather fall off her float! :)
Docs Seafood Shack--I think we were all STUFFED!!!
The girls conversation on the way home from the outlets!!! Wow! I am still in shock!! ;)
Priester's--this will be our annual stop on the way home--we have always wanted to stop there, but always miss the exit on the way home, but this time we stopped and it was well worth it--wish it would not have been so crowded, but think that is everyone's pitt stop!!
Can't wait till next year--Thanks Ford sisters for making more fun family memories each summer!!

Where have we been??

The last few days we have been very busy..Mackenzie finished up with swim lessons this past Friday, Saturday, we relaxed around the house and enjoyed some much needed rain, Sunday, I hosted a Three Momma's Clothing show party (which had tons of cute things for kids) and Monday, I hosted Bonco at my house--I have been on the G-O!!! This morning, Mackenzie and Davis went to Summer Adventures at our church--of course, it is really like mom's day out for Davis and Mackenzie was offered folk dancing lessons. She had a great time...Here are a couple pictures of them from today!! Hope each of you are having a wonderful week...we are still so so ready for the BEACH!!!

Looking Back...

Just me and my sweet little girl--well, Davis was in my "tummit" as Kenzie would say!

At age 3--already loved what all girls love--purses, sunglasses, and a cellphone!!

Giving Santa their Wish List!!

There is just something about those 2 little smiles that are contagious!!

Little Miss Priss Pott!!!

What a blessing it is that Mackenzie and Davis have a "Great" granny Justice to love them!!! Ressee your not so shabby yourself!! :) We love yall! (Matt, this IS Davis all in lace, but it was his Christening!)

I just love this--look at how little my Davis was! :(

This was one of my happiest moments-NOT!!--Mackenzie decided to give herself some bangs right before Davis was born--perfect new hairdo for pictures! :)

Testing the toys!!

Here are some pictures of Davis testing out Baby Will's future toys...if I say so myself, I think this little boy is just too precious! :)

Pearly Whites!!

Woooh, this morning we were up bright & early...Mackenzie had a dentist appointment at 8:30, so we were up and at em' around 7:30--I know, that is really not early, but for this family who has been sleeping till around 8:30 or 9 each morning since we got out of preschool, it was EARLY!!! We have got to get back in shape for the alarm clock when we return home from the beach next week, b/c otherwise, it is going to kill us when Mackenzie begins school August 6th!!! The dentist said that everything looked good and most importantly--No Cavities!! Great Brushing, Kenzer!! :)

Not I, Not II, Not III, But IV!!!

Today, Mackenzie had her swim evaluation--I am so proud of her, her teacher was so complimentary on the job Mackenzie has been doing--She was so proud of Mackenzie for continuing to swim across the entire length of the pool, her eagerness and willingness to do anything they ask of her, and that she is an excellent level IV swimmer!! WAY TO GO MACKENZIE!!! We are so so proud of you!!!

This put a SMILE on my face!!!

I forgot to post this the other day, but Saturday night when we were at the lake, I was sitting in the middle of the floor getting ready to feed Davis his applesauce & Davis looked at me with his hands together for the blessing and sang "God our father, God our father, once again, once again, we would like to thank you, we would to thank you, amen, amen!" My heart just melted at that moment, if you could have just heard his sweet little voice singing "the tune" of the blessing and it was all on his own, it was so crazy around there with kids running around, I actually had forgotten & my sweet little Davis remembered!! And then...yep this was the shocker...we were about to leave & I was about to go and tell Mackenzie to start cleaning up, all the kids were downstairs watching TV, except Mackenzie, she was in the bedroom cleaning up all the mess!! I was so proud of her & at that moment I received a breath of fresh air knowing that a smidget of my hardwork was shining through--What a great night to watch my 2 little ones, they both just made me feel better about my parenting skills, when at times, I question myself and wonder if I am doing a good job??

This one is for you Aunt HaHa!!!

I got in trouble today from HaHa because I did not share any new pictures--so I took a couple this evening of the kids playing outside after dinner! In all honesty, I am so exhausted from the being on the GO--today, after swim lessons, we came straight home and had a day around the house and I must say it was nice!!! Davis was in bed for naptime a little earlier than schedule, Mackenzie sat in the kitchen and painted with her new watercolor paint set, and I did a few things around the house!! HaHa, I will do better on minute to minute happenings around here, but if you only lived closer you could see these sweet little faces more!!! We love you!!!

...And this wraps it up!!

We went down to the lake Saturday and Sunday and enjoyed the rest of the weekend. We went to the Welsh's and had dinner at their new lake house--it was fun socializing with good friends and when my sweet hubby cooks some hamburgers on the grill it is always yummy!!! Here are a couple pics from the rest of our weekend...

My 2 Boys!!
