Swimming & Snacks

Mackenzie started swim lessons this morning--She did great, I mean "EXCELLENT"!! She got in the car and I asked her if she did great and she quickly told me "No, Mama, my teacher told me I did "EXCELLENT"!" and then she proceeded to say, "Mama, can you say excellent? Okay, Say Ex-cel-lent!!" She's a M-E-S-S!!! Davis enjoyed snacks during the 45 minute lesson--he began begging Garland Grace Welsh for part of her 3 muscateer (sp?) candy bar and then wanted some of her poweraide and then she had popcorn she shared with him--what a sweet little girl to share all of her snacks with a begging little boy!! HA! Tomorrow, I will be more prepared now that I know that there is a snack stand that shouts BUY FROM ME to Davis!!!

Cute little boy, BUT stinky little feet!

Davis loves his crocs--but oh my...they make his feet so stinky and dirty!! I guess this is what little boys are all about!!

1st night of practice

Here is a short clip of Mackenzie practicing for cheerleading--as of right now, there are 9 other kids that will be on the "tiny squad"--here are the 2 early birds!!

My 1st pair of tennis shoes...

We have been considering Mackenzie beginning competition cheerleading, b/c Taylor (our neighbor) does it and loves it!! Mackenzie tried the whole dance thing last fall & hated it, but loves to cheer and loves going to tumbling! The place where Taylor takes is beginning a "tiny squad" & they invited us to go to check it out--I thought that Mackenzie would just sit with me and take it all in, but she got out there and went to town practicing! She loved it!! The only bad thing was she did not own a pair of tennis shoes for practice! Oh my...we have never had the need for tennis shoes....so here they are & she thinks they make her toe-touches awesome! HA! We are going to try it again tomorrow afternoon--tommorow is the first day for the actual "tiny squad practice"!! Are we future traveling cheer parents???! Who knows what the future holds--we are just having fun living day to day!

Home from Atlanta...

We are finally home--Yipppeee...not that we did not have a fabulous time, but it is always comforting walking into your house & knowing that you are finally home! (atleast for a few hours..ha!)We headed up to Atlanta on Wednesday to visit with my sister Haley for a few days...she was there for LAF & since she lives in Austin, I don't get to see her as often as I would like!! Yesterday, we shopped...shopped..and shopped a little more! I decided since I was out at the mall, I would restock my makeup--needless to say, I don't venture to the mall often with my 2 kids, and I was quickly reminded why...(Thank goodness for internet and online ordering!!) I was at the Bobbi Brown counter getting new makeup for summer & oh my...my kids were WILD!!! The lady that was helping me was so sweet and very patient and thankfully I was able to get all or more than I needed!! After mucho shopping, Davis finally crashed in his stroller at some point and then in the car, Mackenzie left us! I think I EXHAUSTED them...We drove to Alpharetta and took Mackenzie to the shop she dreams about...American Girl!! Needless to say, she gave me a huge hug and told me I was the best mom ever! I think that she got so excited this was the cause for the nap on the ride home... or to Ikea! Both kids were asleep & Haley looks at me and says, "I guess we are just going back to the hotel?!" & I guickly responded.."No..I still want to go to Ikea!" We survived that & on the way home, stopped for some dinner, and then we were off to the room for baths and bed! What a busy few days....

Lake Days

Every day since Thursday we have been at the lake & it has been wonderful!! Uncle Dave returned home from overseas on Monday, so we had a Welcome Home Uncle Dave lake weekend!! We are so happy to have him back home with us & it was so cute to hear Davis call his "Uncle Dave"! Uncle Dave we love you and are so glad you are home safe and sound!! :) Here are just some lake pictures from the last few days!

New family member??

No...we released our "turtle friend" into Lake Martin yesterday! Bubba and Uncle Dave picked him up, out of the road, on their way home yesterday morning from getting some breakfast! He should be very happy in his new home & I am sure he will have a ton of new "turtle friends" there!

Down by the creek bank...

Do you remember the rest of the words?? I remember it as a kid....down by the creek bank hanky panky..where bull frogs jump from bank to bankey....It is still around because the Moreman twins have tried to teach Mackenzie the same thing...How neat to know what I did as a child, now my own child is doing it?!?! : )

Lil' Huckleberry Fin!

Some muddy little girls!

Birthday Party Fun!

This afternoon, we went to celebrate Julian's 5th birthday!! Happy Birthday Julian!! The party was at Frog Legs and it was a nice "cool" place to have a party!! Mackenzie enjoyed playing with all her friends and Davis reunited with one of his friends from Preschool--"Uke" (Luke!) They were so cute--they played the entire time together & when "Uke" wasn't in Davis' sight--he would just stand there and call his name! So even 1 year olds know who their friends are! :) To good friends...

Mackenzie going down the big slide!

Davis and "Uke" hugging!! How sweet!!

Davis enjoyed riding these little cars just about the whole time! He loves it now that he can push with his feet and get where he wants to go!

Nap time????

Thought this picture was too cute not to share--yesterday, we went swimming & when it got close to when Davis likes to take his afternoon nap--this is what he did--he made himself a little bed and layed down in it...put his little hands over his eyes, to block out the sun...it was so cute...think he might have fallen asleep there for a minute or two...Allie, my mom's little dog, went and enjoyed the comforts of Davis' bed with him!! Needless to say, I took this little boy on home to his crib, he feel asleep in the car on the way home & slept the rest of the afternoon in his "real" bed! : )

Enjoying the birthday presents...

Here are a few pictures of Mackenzie with some of her new presents...She had a great birthday and got lots of fun gifts!!
Mackenzie & her new water sprinkler!!

Each year, we give Mackenzie a pearl for her add-a-pearl necklace & we had not gotten her anything other than that for her birthday, so today, when we were at Target, I asked her what she wanted and she told me a Ipod!! Well, I can justify getting it, because this little girl loves music--she is now stylin' with her little purple Ipod shuffle!! What every 5 year old needs! HA! :) So, we got home and I loaded some Hannah Montana, Taylor Swift and Third Day to her new Ipod!!

A little sponge....

Lately, I have noticed how much Davis picks up on what we do and copies everything--this morning, I was brushing his teeth and I always give him the toothbrush in the end for him to practice/play/suck on & he kept walking up to the sink, actually the cabinet door, but he was in front of the sink and would make a spitting noise, like he was spitting out his toothpaste--it was so cute!! Suprisingly, I did not run and grab the camera..think that I ran all I could yesterday preparing for Mackenzie's birthday bash! HA! Another thing, tonight, he was taking a bath with Sissy and he was taking the wash cloth and srubbing his little body...he would raise his little arms and clean them--just so precious! And what every mom wants to hear when they are at the pool--"Watch this!"--this afternoon, I took the kids swimming, and that is all the little boy said--"Mama, watch this!" and guess who else was saying it...Mackenzie!! Double the trouble! HA! It is just amazing how fast they learn...just yesterday, I was thinking that there would be no way Davis would be ready to be in the 2 year old class this year at Preschool since he will not turn 2 until after school begins (August 22nd), but each day he suprises me a little more...maybe I am just saying that because he is my baby & I don't want him to be ready...But guess what..he is talking more and more every day, running now instead of walking, and just growing up to be such a sweet little boy!!! What a sweet little blessing he is!!!

Friday Lake Day

This is a little late...but Friday we went to the lake and rode up to my friend Leslee's lake place--the kids loved jumping into the water off their water trampoline and loved playing in the sandbox...Thanks Leslee for inviting us, we had a great time!! The water is now at the perfect temperature (for adults!) and it felt great to swim!!

VBS Celebration

This week, we have had Vacation Bible School at our church. Mackenzie has had lots of fun, made lots of cute things, and learned about how Jesus will help her (in her words)!!! The kids have raised almost $900 thus far in a girls vs the boys competition to give to Hondurus Missions. What a blessing!! Tonight, we had a dinner and the kids sang their songs for their parents. It is so amazing how well these kids can learn a couple of songs and the motions in 3 days--they did great!! Here are a couple of pictures of Mackenzie performing--she stands out, because I opted not to buy the t-shirt this year, because her drawers are FULL of t-shirts!! Enjoy!!

Summer Swing

Tonight, we headed down to Monkey park for Summer Swing to hear Route 66!! They are so much fun and we had a great time! Route 66 handed out air guitars to all the kids and Mackenzie jammed on stage with her new guitar. It was so cute! I love summer time and all the fun things that we do!! Happy Summer!

The bopping of the bell...

Here is Davis getting bopped in the head by Wyatt with a bell & at this point he is trying to stop him!! Check out Mackenzie's face--she is just watching & grinning!

Where is Wyatt now?? Oh, Davis took care of him, you can see in the picture Davis just looking at him after he shoved him down...and now check out Mackenzie's face--it looks like she is thinking "Oh-oh!"--these kids were hilarious! : )

Love is in the air--Part II

This weekend, we went to Selma to my cousin Amy's wedding! It was beautiful and lots of fun & hard work! HA! Between doing the wedding flowers and both kids-I was worn out!! Zeb and Amy were so sweet and had several of their family members kids ring bells for the tolling of the hour...it was really sweet and ended up going pretty well! I knew that there would not be any problems getting Mackenzie to perform her task, but Davis I wasn't so sure about!! He made it down the isle...as he was walking I heard this sweet little voice on the other side of the church say "Mommy", but he continued down the isle with sissy ringing his bell!! We broke out the fruit loops during the ceremony to keep all of these little ones quiet..it worked for the most part!! As the wedding party left the church, Aunt Jan wanted the kids to ring the bells--well, they DID and they also did a few other things, as you could imagine! HA! Another little boy that was a bell ringer, Wyatt, took his bell and was knocking Davis on the head with it, Davis just turned around and shoved the kid into the alter and then he started crying...it was just one of those priceless funny moments!! Thank you Amy and Zeb for including Mackenzie and Davis in on your special day!! It was a beautiful wedding and we were honored to be a part of it!
